We're aware and working to correct a DNS server failure for some of our broadband customers - this could be resolved literally any minute now, but can be bypassed by manually changing your DNS settings on your computer - if you know how to do this, please use Google's DNS (220.127.116.11 /18.104.22.168).
We hope to have it corrected shortly, but if you're still having issues, please call us on 01686 411000 - lines open at 09:30.
*Update* It looking like the fix has worked - please power off/on your modems/routers if still having issues.
Hi folks, apologies if you're experiencing slow/failing connections, some of our customers are being affected by a mass service outage which is still being worked on now - unfortunately the initial fix has caused route flapping in the tunnels (I'm not making this up, this is legitimate terminology) and the exact cause is still to be identified.
*Update 1* Fault has been identified with a device in one of the core networks - hardware requires replacing and a Priority 1 case has been raised - in the meantime traffic is being re-routed away from the suspect device so we should see things calm down a bit.
*Update 2* As expected, the fault was found with a network card that was handling traffic - this was replaced over the weekend. All services should have resumed without problem.
So we're seeing stormy weather coming in, please don't forget to unplug your modems from both the power and the little cable that goes into your phone socket (if you're on FTTC or ADSL - FTTP customers: you don't have to worry as much but it would be safer to power any electronics off).
