*Unlimited! – When we say it we mean it! – We do have to still contain a “Fair use” but we must make clear how this differs from other providers!  With our new systems in place to date no one has been placed on alert and this includes some of our high end users of over 1TB a month!  Most ISP’s unlimited slows after just 100gb!

The small print and explanations:

Speeds explained:

Speed of broadband is measured in units of Mb (Mega bits per second) and all noted speeds are the maximum values.  Every line is different to the next. No ISP can guarantee end result without the connection being live for 10 days. For “ADSL” type broadband the total distance from your local exchange will be a factor for delivery speed.  For “FTTC” your total distance from your nearby cabinet will result in available speeds.  Pricing remains the same for all regardless of end result of speed available.  We always advise asking for estimated speeds before ordering.

Data usage:

Data usage of broadband is measured in units of GB (Gigabyte = 1024MB).  Your monthly usage is counted in terms of data up and down your line.  There is no measurement of time.  Most connections are on 24/7 but we only measure the moving of data.  Intending to watch TV/Film On Demand services? We suggest going to minimum 50gb.

Hardware:

Hardware remains the property of PCQ. At end of service we will request any hardware to be returned. Failure to return hardware will incur a charge. Should ANY damage (including events such as lightning which isn’t covered by a warranty) to our loaned equipment occur whilst in your care we would have to charge for a suitable replacement.  Should you leave PC-Q within the first 6 months of having an account with us we reserve the right to charge you for the initial callout by PCQ or 3rd party engineer. Typically labour cost of approximately £60.00.

– This support desk is monitoring / helping during much wider hours and can be submitted 24/7.  Telephone support is available for service affecting faults (01686 411000) during our normal office opening times.

Billing:

Billing is done on the 1st of the month via Direct Debit. You are charged pro rata from live date to end of month, but all months thereafter chargeable for whole period. (Part months are non-refundable)

Cancellations & migrations

CANCELLATIONS: You have the right to cancel our broadband service if not in term (30 day notice required). Requests must be in writing (can be email).  For “ceasing a line” for the use of broadband the charge is £31.20 (ADSL) or £12 (FTTC).

MIGRATIONS: You have the right to migrate to another provider at any stage if not in term.  On request for your MAC code in writing (can be email) we will aim to provide you the MAC code with 5 working days.  If new supplier fails to migrate the service correctly (cease/re-supply) we would be forced to pass on fees imposed which would be payable and you would have to attempt re-claiming from your new ISP (can be tricky!).
